Help Give World Leaders 10,000 Reasons to Act on Climate

FB discWhat would you like to tell the world's leaders about global warming?

With the focus now on the Copenhagen climate conference, this is your chance to speak out. Go to our Facebook page and add your voice to our 10,000 Reasons to Support Strong Climate Action campaign. We will share these reasons with key members of Congress and with the White House.

Here are just a handful of the more than 650 reasons offered so far:

Deborah Beracha of Fort Lauderdale, Fla, wrote:

Let's all join together. Global warming has to be taken seriously. Leaders need to stand up and limit global warming emissions and they need to do it now.

Ken Weitzman of Bloomington, IN, wrote:

As a father, I want to be able to answer two questions my children will one day ask:
1) Did you know?
Then, after I answer "yes"…

2) So what did you do?

Jeff Riney of Asheville, N.C., wrote:

If anything we need to do this for our kids! I dread the day that my daughter says, "thanks for the mess you left us Dad!"

Gabe Schirm of northern Colorado wrote:

The technology, the science and the will are here now. We have the solutions. We just need our leaders to do the right thing. Not later, but now.

Walk to the farm — Promenade à la ferme

On Sundays, we like to find a nice spot for a walk. A special one that allows us to appreciate the beauty of the season that is passing. Yesterday, this is where it took us. We saw cows and sheep and goats and chicken and pigs, and when we returned home, I baked and made a salmon poached in olive oil dinner while Lulu took a long nap.

And while Perry Blake was playing on the stereo, I peeled and diced a butternut squash to yet make another large pot of steaming wintry soup.

For lunch today. And probably the next.

That’s one of the many reasons why I love the fall. You too?

I have a Citibank checking account linked to several other accounts (mortgage, credit cards)… due to balances on all of these, I was eligible for the whole package that included a Line of Credit. I did not really want the line of Credit but agreed to it because it provided…

Judge Makes Debt Collection Firm Pay Stranger $115 For Dragging Him To Court

Last week, a Brooklyn judge ordered the law firm of Pressler & Pressler, “one of the biggest in the collection industry,” to pay a day’s worth of income to the man they falsely accused of owing an unpaid debt. Judge Noach Dear told the firm’s lawyer, T. Andy Wang, that he would hold a sanctions hearing against the firm for suing the wrong man. Pressler & Pressler relied on a database to find the man, Mark Hoyte, and refused to believe he wasn’t their guy even after he gave them his Social Security number and date of birth. “Why didn’t…

Are you high?” And most important, “Do you mind flair?” If you want to see a bigger version, click the link at the bottom of the post to visit Eating The Road. “Where Should I Eat?
